Good post, I have done a proof of concept with this before and it worked well, one thing I think which needs to be mentioned is that if your host is an isolated host then you need to update the config file for that process.  Typically this is adding your configuration setting to the web.config file for the HTTP and SOAP/WSE/WCF adapters.
